Deed 4-259. Canaan, Connecticut

Note: Abraham Hollenbeck sells 16 acres of land to Cornelius Whitney.

Know all men by these presents that I Abraham Hollenbeck of Canaan Litchfield County and state of Connecticut for diverse good causes and confirmations thereunto moving (?)tially for sixteen pounds lawful money received to my full satisfaction of Cornelius Whitney of said Canaan in said county and state have remised(?), released and forever quit claimed unto the said Cornelius Whitney his heirs and assigns forever all such right and title as I the said Abraham Holenbeck have or ought to have in or to a certain tract or piece of land lying and being situate in said Canaan. It being the one half for quantity and quality of the following described land (Viz) Bounded west on Ousatonick River south on Robard's land east and north on undivided land.

Beginning at a pine tree standing on the bank of the river which is the northwest corner. Thence east 29 degrees south 36 rods to a pine tree. Thence south 29 degrees west 58 rods to a stake standing on the line of Robbard's land. Thence west 29 degrees north 58 rods to the river so bounding by the river to the first bounds. Containing 16 acres and 70 rods of land the one half of said piece of land for quantity and quality.

To have and to hold the premises unto him the said Cornelius Whitney his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of the said Cornelius Whitney his heirs and assigns forever so that neither I the said Abraham Hollenbeck nor any person or persons in my name and behalf shall or will hereafter claim or demand any right or title to the premises or any part thereof but they and every of them shall by these presents be excluded and forever bared.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of February in the year of our Lord 1786
