Deed 4-262. Canaan, Connecticut

Note: John Hollenbeck sells half a share of land to Elisha Beebe.

To all people to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that I John Hollenbeck of Canaan Litchfield County and state of Connecticut for the consideration of thirty seven pounds ten shillings money received to full satisfaction of Elisha Beebe of said Canaan County and state do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Elisha Beebe his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece of land in said Canaan in the southerly part of said town situated in the Meadow so called on the east side of Hollenbeck River and joining on said river being part of the 33rd share of interval in the first division.

Viz, beginning at a stake at elm being the northeast corner of this 33rd lot. Thence west in the ine of said share twenty rods to the said Hollenbeck River. Thence southerly up stream as said river runs fifteen rods and thirteen links to a [?] stone. Thence east a parallel line with the first to a cedar stake in the east line of said share. Thence north in the line of said share to the first bounds. Containing the one half of said share be it more or less.

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Elisha Beebe his heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use and behoof. And also I the said John Holenbeck do for myself my heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said Elisha Beebe his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever and furthermore the said John Holenbeck do by these presents bind myself and heirs forever to warrent and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Elisha Beebe his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 12th day of December Anno Domini 1787.
