Note: Samuel Hollenbeck is selling 106 acres of land to Burdseye Norton

To all people to whom these presents shall come Greetings. Know ye that Samuel Hollenbeck of Canaan in the county of Litchfield and state of Connecticut for the consideration of four thousand eight hundred dollars received to my full satisfaction of Burdseye Norton of Goshen County and state aforesaid. Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Burdseye Norton his heirs and assigns forever the following tract or lot of land lying and being in Canaan aforesaid bounded southerly on Holenbeck River so called, westerly on Qusatonak River. North on land lately conveyed by Jeremiah Hogoboom to Pamela Griffin and East on the Highway and containing one hundred and six acres be the same more of less together with all the buildings thereon standing. To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Burdseye Norton to his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also I the said Samuel Holenbeck do for myself my heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said Burdseye Norton and to his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized(?) of the as a good indefeasble estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the same is free of all incumberances whatsoever. And furthermore I the said Samuel Hollenbeck do by these presents bind myself [??] forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Burdseye Norton and to his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the ninth day of December 1809
