Note: Henry K. Kreider bought 18 acres of land located in South Londonderry Township from Joseph Gingrich (deceased).
This indenture made the twenty ninth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety nine (1899). Between John S. Bowman trustee annointed by the Orphan's Court of Lebanon County of South Londonderry township Lebanon Co. Penna for the sale of the real estate of Joseph Gingrich deceased of the one part and Henry K Kreider of South Londonderry township county and state aforesaid of the other part whereas the said Joseph Gingrich was in his lifetime seized in his demesne as of fee of and in all that certain messuage tenement and tract or piece of land situate in South Londonderry township in the county of Lebanon and state of Pennsylvania bounded and described as follows to wit: Beginning at a point in the middle of a public road leaving from Campbelltown to Bachmanville thence by land of Elizabeth Blouse and H. H. Fegan in the middle of a private alley south seventy one degrees (71) east forty two perches (42) to a post ; thence by land of E. Dissinger and Joseph Bowman's estate south twenty seven and one fourth degrees west sixty four and five tenths perches to a stone in the middle of a private road; thence along the middle of the said private road and other lands of the estate of Joseph Gingrich deceased north eighty five degrees (85) west thirty two and nine tenths perches to a stone in the middle of said private road; thence along the middle of said private road and the lands of Jacob M. Brandt north eighty and three fourth degrees west eleven and twenty five one hundredths perches to a stone in the middle of a public road leading from Campbellstown ot Bachmansville; thence along the middle of said public road and lands of Jacob M. Brandt and Elizabeth Oberholtzer north twenty seven degrees (27) east seventy four perches (74) to a point in the middle of said public road the place of beginning containing eighteen acres (18) and fifteen perches (15) It being part of the same premises of which the said Joseph Gingrich died seized and [?] of densing the same unto his daughter Elizabeth wife of Henry Bowman during her lifetime and after her death to her children in equal shares as tenants in common said will having been duly probated in the office of the Register of Wills on or before the fourteenth day of August ad 1866 and the said Elizabeth Bowman having since died procedings in partition were had upon the above described premises and the said John G Bowman was duly appointed trustee to make sale of the above described premises together with other lands devised as aforesaid the above described premises being marked [?] no 2 in said proceding of partition which procedings are of record in said Orphan's Court of Lebanon County as of August [?] 1898 no 3(?) [???] had will [??] and at large appear and being so therof seized died testate and whereas at an orphan's court held at Lebanon in and for Lebanon County Pennsylvania on the fifth day of September AD 1898 upon the petition of Mary Bowman an inquest was awarded to make partition of the real estate of the said Joseph Gingrich deceased to and among Elizabeth Bowman's heirs and legal representatives according to law which inquest having been duly returned at an orphan's court held on the 19th day of September 1898 was on motion confirmed and a [?] awarded on all parties interested to appear on the first day of October then next to accept or refuse to take the above described premises at the valuation fixed by the inquisition or show cause why the same should not be sold whereupon the heirs and legal representatives of said deceased having severally refused to take the premises aforesaid at the appraised price and no cause being shown an order was granted by the said court commanding the said John G. Bowman trustee as aforesaid to expose the same to sale by public [?] and sold said premises to the said Henry K. Kreider being the highest and best bidder and that being the best price bidden for the same which sale on return being made to the judges aforesaid was on the fifth day of December following confirmed and it was ordered and decreed by the said court that the premises so sold should be and remain unto the said Henry K. Kreider heirs and assigns firm and stable and that the said John G. Bowman trustee of aforesaid should execute and deliver for the same to the said Henry K. Kreider on his compliance with the terms of sale as by the records of said court will more fully appear now this indenture witnesseth that the said John G. Bowman trustee as aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of twenty four hundred and thirty one and 40/100 dollars ($2,431.40) to him in hand paid by the said Henry K. Kreider at and before the [?] and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged granted bargained and sold and by these presents with grant bargain sell lease and confirm to the said Henry K Kreider his heirs and assigns the above described messuage tenement [???] with the appurtenances together with all and singular the buildings improvements ways woods waters water courses rights liberties priveleges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever these unto belonging [?] appertaining and the reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof; and also all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of the said Joseph Gingrich at and immediately before the time of his decease in law inequity or otherwise howsoever of in to or out of the same to have and to hold the said messuage tenement and tract of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned and intended so to be. With the appurtenances unto the said Henry K Kreider his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Henry K Kreider his heirs and assigns forever and the said John G. Bowman trustee as aforesaid doth by these presents covenant promise grant and agree with the said Henry K. Kreider his heirs and assigns that he hath not done or committed or knowingly suffered to be done or committed any act hereby the premises aforesaid or any part thereof may be impeached charged or incumbered in any manner howsoever in witness whereof the said party to these presents has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
