Note: This deed is for property Henry K Kreider purchased from Mary (Westenberger) Johnston. Mary was the mother of Henry's first wife, Alice Johnston. Mary Johnston had purchased the property five years earlier (1895) from Henry's mother Mary Kreider. Both Alice and Mary were deceased at the time of the purchase (1900).
This indenture made the 7th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred. Between Joseph Westenberger and Phreany his wife of South Annville Twp (parents of Mary Johnston deceased) and Jacob Westenberger (brother of said Mary Johnston) and Mary his wife, of North Cornwall Twp. and Joseph H. Westenberger (brother of said Mary Johnston) and Emma his wife of South Annville Twp and Ezra Barto and Annie (sister of said Mary Johnston) his wife also of South Annville Twp all of the County of Lebanon and state of Pennsylvania of the first part and Henry K. Kreider of Campbellstown County of Lebanon State of Pennsylvania of the second part. Witnesseth the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred and fifty ($1550) dollars good and lawful money of the United States of America. Well and truly paid by the said party of the second part to the said parties of the first part at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns. All that certain messuage or tract of land situate in the Village of Campbellstown County of Lebanon State of of Pa bounded and described as follows to wit. Beginning at a stone thence by land of Lizzie Imboden north 88.5 degrees east 60 feet to a stone thence by land of Mary Kreider south 1 1/4 degrees. East 180 feet to a stone on north side of turnpike and thence along the same South 89 3/4 degrees West 23 feet to a post thence by same south 85 degrees west 40 1/2 feet to a stone thence by land of Jacob Walters north 1/2 degree East 181 feet to the place of beginning. Containing 42 perches strict measure. It being part of the same tract which Jonas W. Eby executor of the last will and testament of William Dontzler[?] deceased by his deed dated the first day of April AD 1895 did grant and confirm unto Mary Kreider her heirs and assigns forever as will by said deed or deeds more fully and at large appear and the same lot which the aforesaid Mary Kreider her deed dated the 12th day of April AD 1895 did grant and confirm unto Mary Johnston her heirs and assigns forever as in and by said deed recorded in the office for recording of deeds at Lebanon in and for the county of Lebanon Deed Book vol. page will appear and whereas the said Mary Johnston died intestate and leaving no issue whereby according to the intestate laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania her estate naturally passed unto her the said Mary Johnston's parents Joseph and Pheany Westenberger during their natural life and thereafter to the heirs of Joseph and Phreany Westenberger viz Jacob Westenberger, Joseph H. Westenberger and Annie Barto their heirs and assigns forever together with all and singular the buildings improvements woods[?] ways rights liberties [????????] hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in [??????] appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and [????] therof and of every part and parcel thereof and also all the estate title interest property possession claim and demand whatsoever both in law and equity of the said party of the first part of in and to the said premises. With the appurtenances to have and to hold the said premises with all and singular the appurtenances and forty two perches of land unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever subject to an alley on North side eighteen feet wide to be kept open for use at all times and seasons and the said Joseph Westenberger and Phreany his wife, Jacob Westenberger and Mary his wife Joseph H. Westenberger and Emma his wife and Ezra Barto and Annie his wife their heirs executors and administrators do by these presents covenant grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever that they the said Joseph Westenberger et al parties of the first part their heirs all and singular the hereditaments and premises here above described and granted or mentioned and intend so to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against them the said Joseph Westenberger et al parties of the first part their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever defend in witness whereof the said parties of the first part to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals dated the day and year first above written.

On this 7th day of April AD 1900 before me a Justice of the Peace in and for said county and state personally appeared the above named Joseph Westenberger and Phreany his wife, Jacob Westenberger and May his wife, Joseph H. Westenberger and Emma his wife, Ezra Barto and Annie his wife and in due form of law acknowledged the above indenture to be their and each of their act and deed and desired the same might be recorded as such and the said Phreany Westenberger, May Westenberger, Emma Westenberger, and Annie Barto being of free age and separate and apart from their said husbands by me thereon privately examined and the full contents of the above deed being by me first made known unto them did thereupon declare and say that they did voluntarily and of their own free will and accord sign seal and as their act and deed deliver the above written indenture deed or conveyance without any coercion or compulsion of their said husbands.
