Deed 1-124. Canaan, Connecticut

Note: Abraham Hollenbeck sells land to Joshua Whitney.

To all people to whom these presents shall come: Greeting. Know ye, I Abraham Hollenbeck of Canaan in the county of Hartford and colony of Connecticut in New England for the consideration of five pounds lawful money to me in hand already paid by Joshua Whitney of the same town county and colony afore said before the ensealing hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself satisfied having given, granted, sold and do by these presents give, grant, sell and convey to the said Joshua Whitney [??] of land lying and being in the township of Canaan [?] tract or parcel being eight acres belonging to the Sixth Division of land and is part of the said 6th division which is yet to lay out the other is part of the Seventh Division and it being twenty acres [?] the division in said Canaan ten acres in the 43 shear(share?) in said 7th division and ten acres successfully following to said forty third share in said 7th division and [?] ten acres is in [???] in said 7th division as may appear on the proprietary record said land belongeth to the right or share which said Hollenbeck and Capt Peter Hogoboom are copartners in together with all the priviledges and appurtenances thereto belonging to him the said Whitney his heirs and assigns forever.

To have and to hold without any [?] hindrance or molestation from me or my heirs and that the same is free of any incumbrance whatsoever. Furthermore the said Hollenbeck covenant for myself and heirs to warrant and defend the above bargained premises to him the said Whitney his heirs and assigns forever against any lawful claim or claims of any person whatsoever lawfully laying claim or claims.

Thereto in witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22 day of February in the 7th year of the reign [???] AD 1743/4.

Signed sealed and delivered in Canaan Hartford County February 23, 1743/4 there personally appeared Abraham Hollenbeck [?] subscriber to the within written deed and acknowledges the same to be his free act and deed before me David Whitney Justice of the Peace
