Note: The Proprietors of South Canaan are granting 35 acres of land to Abraham Hollenbeck
Canaan in Litchfield County June 5, 1781. Then surveyed and laid out to Abraham Hollenbeck and Abiel Fellows sixty acres of land granted to be laid out by the proprietors of South Canaan. Thirty-five acres of which land is laid out to said Hollenbeck on his own right in the 9th and 10th divisions, and twenty-five acres is laid out said Fellows on Ephraim Fellows' and Samuel Pringles' right both in the tenth Division. The land lies on the Great Mountain beginning [?] and bounded as follows viz Beginning at a stake and stones about two rods east off a small run of water, facing a corner of W(?) A(?) Roots(?) land, thence south 86 degrees west 12 chains to a black birch tree marker and stones to it standing on the north side of the road, thence south 40 degrees west 12 chains and 80 links to a small hemlock [?] marked and stones to it about three rods south of a small run of water, thence south 53 degrees east 20 chains to a large chestnut tree marked and stones to it, thence north 4 degrees east 9 chains and 50 links to a crotched beech tree marked and stones to it being the northwest corner of Capt. Ruluff(?) Dutcher's land, thence north 60 degrees, east in the Dutcher's line 35 chains to a beach tree marked and stones to it a corner of ? Dutcher's land, thence north 9 degrees 30 feet west 16 chains and 50 links to a maple tree marked ? Dutcher's Corner, thence running straight line to the first mentioned corner surveyed by us.
