Note: Ebenezer Merrell leases 6.5 acres of land to Abraham Hollenbeck
Know all men by these presents that I Ebenezer Merrills of Canaan in the County of Litchfield and state of Connecticut for the sum of thirty pounds in lawful money paid and secured to me by Samuel Hollenbeck of Canaan and being therewith content do give grant bargain and lease unto the said Samuel and to his heirs, executors and administrators for the term of nine hundred and sixty one years. About six acres and a half of land with more or less of the meadowland by Hollenbeck River bounded north on the Three Rod Highway east on Andrew Frank south on the river and west on land belonging to the heirs of Edward Sutton deceased.
To have and to hold the above leased premises to him the said Samuel and his heirs, executors and administrators the full term above mentioned without hindrance or molestation from one or any under me the full of the term. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 7th day of September 1787.
