Deed 5-2

Note: John Hollenbeck sells half of the 33rd share on the east side of the Hollenbeck River to Timothy Holabord (Holabird).

To all people to whom these presents shall come, Greeting. Know ye that I John Hollenbeck of Canaan Litchfield County and state of Connecticut. For the consideration of thirty seven pounds ten shillings lawful money received to full satisfaction of Timothy Holabond of Canaan in said county and state. Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Timothy Holabord his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece of land in said Canaan in the southerly part of said town in the Meadow (so called) on the east side of Hollenbeck River and joining on said river. Being part of the 33rd share of interval lot in the first division. Beginning at the south east corner of the said 33 share. Thence north in the east line of said share to a cedar stake thence west in the line of the land I this day sold to Elisha Beebe to a [?] stone on the bank of the Hollenbeck River. Being the SW corner of the said piece sold to said Beebe. Thence southwardly up stream as said river runs on the bank of said river 23 rods and 20 links to the Holabord's NW corner. Thence east in the line of said Holabord's land to the first bounds containing one half of the said 33rd share be it more or less.

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Timothy Holabard his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said John Hollenbeck do for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Timothy Holabord his heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing these presents, I am seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee-simple; and have good right to bargain and sell the same, in manner and form as is above written; and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore, I the said John Hollenbeck do, by these presents, bind myself and my heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Timothy Holabard heirs assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.

In witness whereof, I hereunto set my hand and seal the 12th day of December AD 1787
