Note: Abraham Hollenbeck sells "Half of a share in town" to Asahel Beebe
To all people to whom these presents shall come, greeting. Know ye that I Abraham Hollenbeck of Canaan in Litchfield County and state of Connecticut. For the consideration of eighteen shillings money. Received to full satisfaction of Asahel Beebe of said Canaan. Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Asahel Beebe his heirs and assigns forever, the one half of a certain undivided right or share of land in the township of said Canaan known by the name of Peter Hogeboom in the original charter or roll of Proprietors of the said township of Canaan which half share I the said Abraham bought of the said Peter whatever remains of the land yet undivided in the said township that belongs to that half share that I the said Abraham bought of the said Peter let the same be more or less.
To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises, with the appurtenances thereof, unto him the said Asahel Beebe his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said Abraham Holenbeck do for myself my heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Asahel Beebe his heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing these presents, I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee-simple; and have good right to bargain and sell the same, in manner and form as is above written; and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore, I the said Abraham Holenbeck do, by these presents, bind myself and my heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Asahel Beebe his heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 20th day of February Anno Domini, 1790
