Note: Abraham Hollenbeck grants to his son Samuel several lots of land.
To all people to whom these presents shall come, greeting. Know ye, that I Abraham Hollenbeck of Canaan Litchfield County and state of Connecticut for divers good causes and considerations. But first and principally for my Love, good will and parental regard for my son Samuel Hollenbeck of said Canaan do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Samuel Hollenbeck his heirs and assigns forever the following pieces, tracts, or lots of land lying in the township of Canaan aforesaid (viz) the home lot or farm on which I live bounded east on the highway running by my dwelling house south on Hollenbeck River (so called) west on Ousatonack River and N on Jeremiah Hogoboom's land. The whole of my home lot let the same be more or less with a house and barn standing thereon; also the whole of my hill lot (so called) lying in said Canaan lying eastwardly and northeastward of my aforesaid home lot on the east side of the aforesaid highway and lying on the west side of the Six Rod Highway (so called). Running up through the Plain (so called) by where the old meetinghouse stands the whole of my land that lies between the aforesaid two roads be the same more or less. Likewise the whole of my Swamp Lot (so called) lying in said Canaan on the east side of the aforesaid Six Rod Road and joining W partly on said road and partly on Andrew Frank's land N bounded on the land of said Frank E on the land belonging to the heirs of Samuel Robbins deceased and south on said heirs land partly and partly on said Frank's land. The whole of said Swamp Lot be the same more or less. And also a piece of land lying on the Great Mountain in said Canaan surveyed to me the said Abraham on my original right in said town of Canaan, reference being had to the record as recorded in the Proprietors Book of Records in said town of Canaan. Be the same more or less.
To have and to hold the above bargained and granted premises unto him the said Samuel Hollenbeck his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their own proper use and behoof. So that neither I the said Abraham nor any other of my heirs (but my son Samuel and his heirs) nor any person or persons for me or them or in my or their names, or in the name right or [?] of any of them, shall or will claim any right title or interest of any kind in the premises. But I and they are hereby forever barred and excluded.
