Note: Samuel Hollenbeck sells ten acres to Margaret Dean.
To all people to whom these presents shall come, greeting. Know ye, that I Samuel Hollenbeck of Canaan in Litchfield County and state of Connecticut for the consideration of sixty dollars received to my full satisfaction of Margaret Dean of said Canaan. Do give, grant, bargain, sell, and confirm unto the said Margaret Dean a certain piece of land lying in said Canaan bounded as follows: north on land that I deeded to the wife of Asahel Kellog. West on the highway and south and east on my own land running easterly forth rods and extending south so far as to contain ten acres.
To have and to hold the above granted premises with the appurtenances thereof, unto her the said Margaret Dean hes heirs and assigns forever, to her and their own proper use and behoof. And also, I the said Samuel Hollenbeck do for myself heirs, executors and administrators, covenant with the said Margaret Dean, her heirs and assigns, that at and until the ensealing these presents, I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee-simple; and have good right to bargain and sell the same, in manner and form as is above written; and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore, I the said Samuel Hollenbeck do by these presents bind myself and my heirs forever, to warrant and defend the above bargained premises to her the said Margaret Dean her heirs and assigns, against all claims and demands whatsoever.
In witness whereto I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 25th day of December Anno Domini, 1804.

Litchfield County, SS Canaan December 25th, 1804 Personally appeared Samuel Hollenbeck signer and sealer of the foregoing instrument, and acknowledged the same to be his free act and deed before me. Elizur Wright Justice of the Peace.

[This paragraph was writtin in the side margin] ... Litchfield County SS Canaan December 25th 1804. Be it remembered that the within deed is given in consideration and as security for the payment of sixty dollars with the interest which the within named Margaret Dean lent to the within named Samuel Hollenbeck and for no other purpose. Now if the said Samuel Hollenbeck shall at or before the expiration of one year from this date pay or cause to be paid to the said Margaret Dean the sum of sixty dollars with the interest then the within deed is to be null and void otherwise to be and remain in force and virtue.
