Deed 7-176

Note: Samuel Hollenbeck sells 35 acres to Burdseye Norton.

To all people to whom these presents shall come, greeting. Know ye, that I Samuel Hollenbeck of Canaan Litchfield County and state of Connecticut for the consideration of four hundred and twenty dollars received to my full satisfaction of Burdseye Norton of Goshen in the county and state aforesaid. Do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said Burdseye Norton and to his heirs forever. One tract or lot of land lying and being in Canaan aforesaid bounded west partly on highway and partly on Adoniram Carter's land north partly on land lately conveyed by Jeremiah Hogoboom to Pamela Griffin and partly on land belonging to the heirs of Jeremiah Cady deceased and east on highway and on land lately belonging to the Reverend(?) Daniel Farrand and partly on Thomas Wright's land and south on Thomas Wright's. Containing thirty five acres more or less.

To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Burdseye Norton and to his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also I the said Samuel Hollenbeck do for myself and for my heirs, executors and administrators covenant with the said Burdseye Norton heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore I the said Samuel Hollenbeck do by these presents bind myself and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Burdseye Norton and to his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever.
