Deed 7-177 - 1809

Note: Samuel Hollenbeck is selling three tracts of land to Burdseye Norton

To all people to whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know Ye that I Samuel Hollenbeck of Canaan in the county of Litchfield and state of Connecticut for the consideration of one thousand dollars received to my full satisfaction of Burdsey Norton of Goshen County and state aforesaid, do give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Burdsey Norton and to his heirs and assigns forever the following tract of land lying in the Town of Canaan aforesaid, the first lying in the Great Swamp so-called, being part of the twenty-third share in the second division bounded North by land belonging to Naomi Kellogg, the heirs of Josiah Cady (deceased) and Charles [can't see it]. East on William M. Burrall's land south partly on William M. Burrall's land and partly on a lot of land that I own in common with William M. Burrall, west on the highway containing by estimation ninety acres be the same more or less. The second piece being the [?] second share in the second division in park, bounded North on the above described, East on William M. Burrall's land, South partly on land lately conveyed by Jeremiah Hogoboom to Pamela Griffen and partly on land belonging to the heirs of Andrew Frank (deceased) and West on the highway. The one half of this last described piece is here intend(?) to be conveyed, that is the one half in quantity and quality being by estimation fifty acres the same more or less. Also the one sixth part of a small piece of land lying near Canaan Little Falls (so called) that I purchased in company with Samuel Robbins and others, of the Hosmer [?]. To have and to hold the above granted and bargained premises with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Birdsey Norton his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own proper use and behoof. And also I the said Samuel Hollenbeck do for myself heirs, executors and administrators covenant with the said Birdsey Norton his heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing these presents I am well seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate in fee simple, and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as is above written, and that the same is free of all incumbrances whatsoever. And furthermore I the said Samuel Hollenbeck do by these presents bind myself and my heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises to him the said Birdsey Norton his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands whatsoever. For witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 11th day of December 1809.
