REV. JACOB D. BOOKS DIED AT CLEONA HOME

Pastor Of The Brethren In Christ Church 35 Years

The Rev. Jacob D. Books passed away at his home late Tuesday evening at his residence in Cleona, of heart failure, after an illness of the past nine days.

He was aged 66 years, 4 months and 19 days. The deceased was pastor of the Brethren in Christ church, in Cleona, for the past 35 years, and is well known in this city as well as nearby communities.

The deceased at one time owned a plaining mill in Cleona.

He leaves to survive, his wife, Leah, and the following children: -- Mrs. Isaac Bashore, of Hershey; Mrs. Harvey Light, of Bunker Hill; Mrs. Paul Shepler, of Cleona; Mrs. Ethan Kreider, of Campbelltown; Theron Books, of Cleona; Benjamin, of Oakland Calif.; Elmer, at home; Jacob, Titus and Ruth, at home; sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Bomberger, of Lebanon; Mrs. Samuel Brehm, of Hummelstown, Mrs. Harvey Baum, of Palmyra, and Mrs. Linnus Brandt, of Kansas.
