In the name of God Amen I Jacob Kreider Sen. in the township of Lebanon, in the county of Dauphin and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Considering the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, therefore do hereby make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, first and principally of all I recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it, and my body to the earth to be interred in a Christian like manner and as touching and concerning such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give and devise in the following manner. It is my will that my just debts and funeral expences be paid out of my estate, as soon as may conveniently be done after my decease by my executors - hereafter named.

ITEM I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Cathy the sum of fifty pounds good and lawful money of the state of Pennsylvania for her supply to be paid by my Executors hereafter named out of my estate unto her and further she shall have the whole right and privilege to live in my old house in my log dwelling apartment for her recidence and for her own use, as long as she remains my widow and shall have a right in the new kitchen and bake oven and pump of the water in the well and bake in said bake oven, and a right in the cellar in the new house for her own use as long as she shall remain my widow further I order my son Henry Kreider or his heirs for to give my wife Cathy or to bring to her hand such a quantity of fire wood as she has need, or has occasion for, Summer and Winter sufficient quantity well cut and split, for her use, as long as she shall remain my widow. Further I order my son Henry Kreider to give my said wife Cathy a horse to ride abroad when she thinks proper as long as she shall remain my widow.

ITEM I give and bequeth unto my said wife Cathy twelve bushels of Marchantable wheat to be given by my son Henry Kreider yearly and every year, and to be taken by him to the mill and the flour and bran home to her hand when she doth want it, without any charge as long as she shall remain my widow. And further I order my son Henry Kreider to give and deliver unto my said wife Cathy six bushels of Indian corn yearly and every year, and four bushels of rye yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow.

ITEM I give and bequeth unto my wife Cathy all my feather beds, bedsteads and coverlets and all what is belonging to them, and also a large brass kettle, and two small ones, and further I order my son Henry Kreider to give my said wife Cathy fifty pounds of good marchantable beef and eight pounds of good tallow yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow. And I also bequesth unto my wife Cathy that small garden on the east side of the house, towards the creek, as long as she remains my widow.

ITEM I order my son Henry Kreider to give unto my wife Cathy the sum of six pounds good and lawful money of Pennsylania yearly and every year as long as she remain my widow. And further I bequeth unto my said wife Cathy my small clothes press, and further I order my son Henry Kreider to deliver to my said wife Cathy six pounds of good woll [wool?], and ten pounds of good hatched flax yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow. And further my wife Cathy shall have a right in the orchard for to take so much apples as will make a bushel of dried snitzes yearly and every year and further she shall have a right for to take apples out of my orchard for her use as summer apples, and further she has a right to choose for herself five bushels of winter apples yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow, And my son Henry Kreider shall give and deliver to my said wife Cathy six bushels of potatoes yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow. Further I order my son Henry Kreider to give and deliver to my said wife Cathy a fatted hog of the least weighing one hundred and fifty pounds when cleaned at the time of killing hogs in fall or beginning of the winter and to kill for yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow.

ITEM I give and bequeth unto my wife Cathy three [???] bags for flour and bran and grain, two table cloths, and two hand towels, her spinning wheel reel, saddle, bridle, and also all the hard soap as I have at the time of my decease, and one cow which she will choose for herself and to be kept by my son Henry Kreider summer and winter like his own cows, as long as she remains my widow, And further I bequeath unto my said wife Cathy a ten plated stove and the pipe to it and tongs to it And, further I order my son Henry Kreider to keep the aforesaid small garden in good paling and fence, and haul dung in said garden sufficient quantity according to my wife's directions yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow, and further I order my son Henry Kreider to give my said wife Cathy two pair of calfskin leather shoes yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow and further I bequeath unto my wife Cathy my small table and one rocking chair and two other chairs and her hymn book, and Sow,rs Bible, and a book called the Afflicted Man's Companion, and, other book Paradise Garden, and twelve hens, and my said son Henry Kreider shall keep them for my wife Cathy, And further I bequeth unto my said wife Cathy her chest and all my cloth which I have at the time of my decease and my said son Henry Kreider shall deliver unto my said wife Cathy one bushel of coarse salt yearly and every year as long as she remains my widow, and further I bequeth unto my said wife Cathy my crook in the chimney and all the thread which I have at the time of my decease. Further I bequeath unto my said wife Cathy my kitchen ??? and all my kitchen furnitures, a churn [page torn...] And two iron pots.

And further I have conveyed a tract of land unto my son Jacob Kreider for the sum of twelve hundred pound and he has given bonds for payment to the amount or sum of six hundred pounds, and the other six hundred pounds I have allowed to him for his whole share and inheritance of my estate real and personal therefore I utterly debarr and seclude him of the remainder of my estate only of my books I allow him the equal share with my other children, And further I have conveyed a tract of land unto my son Henry Kreider for the sum of eleven hundred pounds, and he has given bonds for the payment of five hundred pounds of money and six hundred pounds I have allowed to him for his whole share and inheritance of my estate real and personal, Therefore I utterly debarr and seclude him of the remainder of my estate only of my books I allow him equal share with the rest of my children, And unto my son John Kreider have I given in money and goods to the value of six hundred pounds, and that much I have allowed to him for his full share and inheritance of my estate real and personal I utterly debarr and seclude him of the remainder of my estate only of the books a share equal with my other children, And further I bequeth unto all my children named Barbara, John, Jacob, Anna, Elizabeth, Henry, and Maria all my books in equal shares share and shares alike except what is bequethed unto my wife Cathy. And further I do hereby bequeath unto my four daughters, named Barbara, Anna, Elizabeth and Maria the remainder of my estate which I leave behind me after my decease, which is not bequeathed heretofore or herebefore unto my wife Cathy. Unto my four daughters, share and share alike, their heirs and assigns, and further I order and direct my son Jacob Kreider to pay six dollars and a half unto my estate for the two deeds of his land which I have granted to him, and paid that much myself for said deeds, And likewise my son Henry shall pay five dollars for his deed to my estate.

And I do hereby authorize and empower my executors hereafter named or any [paper torn] ... or the survivor of them, to settle all my affairs real and personal estate, according to the directions of this my last will and testament. And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son-in-law Joseph Dohner, and my trusty friend Tobias Kreider Schoolmaster to be my executors of this my last will and testament, And I do hereby revoke and make void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made and ratifying and confirm this and no other to be my last will and testament IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five
