In the name of God Amen. I Michael Grider of Londonderry Township in the county of Dauphin and state of Pennsylvania single man being weak in body of sound mind memory and understanding (blessed be god for the same) but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a christian like and deasent manner at the direction of my Executors herein after named.
Item I give and devise unto my mother Nancy Lightcap (intermarried to Jacob Lightcap) the sum of two hundred pounds to be paid in one year after my decease and my mother shall have the said sum during her lifetime and at her decease my half sister Margaret Folgan shall have one hundred pounds of what is left to my mother and two hundred pounds more.
Item give and devise unto my brothers Martin, Jacob and Abraham Grider and my sister Elizabeth each shall have share and share alike of the money arising from all my real and personal estates after the above sum is paid to my mother and half sister and I do allow and direct my Executors herein after named to pay my brother Abraham's shares unto Martin Nissley (son of Samuel Nissley) of Lancaster County and the said Martin Nissley shall give money and provide necessaries for my said brother Abraham as long as the said Abraham's natural life when the said Martin Nissley thinks proper for my said brothers use and in case the said Martin Nissley shall not have laid out all the said Abraham's share of my estate at his decease the remainder (if any) and in case my brother Abraham shall die leaving lawfull issue then and in that case they shall be the heir or heirs then and that case my brother Jacob's children shall be the heirs of the said remainder and the said Martin Nissley pay to each child an equal share and shall put the money to interest when he receives the same and apply the same as above mentioned. I allow my brother Jacob twenty five dollars more than the rest of my brothers and sister.
I empower my Executor to sell my real and personal property for the highest and best price he can obtain in one year or less after my decease and to make a title to the purchaser for the same the one half of the purchase money in hand and the remainder in one year lawful money of the United States and after my mother and half sister is paid their full share in one year after my decease and my brother twenty five dollars then my brother Jacob and (and Martin Nissley agent to my brother Abraham) and my sister Elizabeth shall each have an equal share of the remainder of the land money of my land and the remainder at the same time I allow my Executor to be punctual in paying said legacies.
And lastly I constitute and appoint my trusty friend George Reighnol son of George Reighnol of Lebanon my whole and soul Executor of this my last will and testament signed sealed pronounced and delivered the twentieth day of March anno domini one thousand eight hundred and twenty in the presence of us who at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses
