Note: This deed records Henry K. Kreider's purchase of 117 acres from Jacob and Nancy Graybill. The land he is purchasing is the same land the Graybills purchased at public sale from Henry's mother in 1881. This is the home and property that Henry was born and lived on until his father's death in 1880. The deed mentions that John F. Kreider acquired the same land from Daniel Kreider (John's father?).
This Indenture made the thirteenth (13th) day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred Between Jacob Graybill of the township of North Londonderry county of Lebanon, state of Pennsylvania and Nancy his wife of the first part and Henry K. Kreider of the township of South Londonderry county and state aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of eight thousand and three hundred and thirty four ($8,334) dollars. Four thousand four hundred ninety six dollars and nineteen cents ($4,496.19) thereof being the dower charged on the hereinafter described premises lawful money of the United States of America will and truly paid by the said party of the second part, to the said parties of the first part, at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, relsease, convey, and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all those certain tracts of land situate in the township of South Londonderry county and state aforesaid. Bounded and described as follows. To wit: No 1. being a messuage, tenement and tract of land Beginning at a stone in the Harrisburg, Ephrata and Downingtown Turnpike Road, thence by lands of William Uhrich, J. M. Brandt and Reuben Reist respectively, South nine and one half degrees East 131.8 perches to a stone, thence by land of Dr. B. W. Stauffer South one and one half degrees West 33.5 perches to a stone, thence by land of John Forrest North 87 degrees West 13.2 perches to a stone, thence by same South 25 and one quarter degrees West 21 perches to a stone, thence by land of Amos Snyder North 82 and three quarter degrees West 21.8 perches to a stone, thence by land of Henry Ebersole estate North 34.25 degrees East 3.45 perches to a stone, thence by land of same and George Gensemer North 51.25 degrees West 169.8 perches to a post in middle of public road leading from Campbellstown to Lawn, thence along said public road North 22.25 degrees East 25.2 perches (to a post) thence by land of W. E. Brunner South 64 degrees East 15.3 perches to a post, thence by same North 50.75 degrees East 60.2 perches to a post, thence by same North 4.25 degrees East 10.4 perches, thence by same on middle of township road, North 89.5 degrees East 15 ft. thence by land of John Lineweaver South 4.25 degrees West 15.46 perches to middle of fifteen foot alley, thence by same North 89.5 degrees East 19.5 perches to middle of said alley, thence by same North 1/2 degree east 15.6 perches to middle of Turnpike Road thence along same North 89.5 degrees East 26.6 perches, thence by same North 84 degrees East 20 perches, thence by same south 5.5 degrees East 1.5 perches to a stone, thence by same North 80 degrees East 16 perches to place of beginning containing 117 acres and 36 perches, neat measure. Being the same premises which Daniel Kreider by his assignment endorsed on back of Indenture and dated March 30 a d 1872 did assign, convey and set over unto John F. Kreider, his heirs and assigns. Also a part of said premises being the same tract which Henry Showers and Mary his wife, by their deed dated the 9th day of September a d 1872 did grant and confirm unto John F. Kreider his heirs and assigns Tract no. 2 being a tract of timber land situate in South Londonderry township county and state aforesaid, bounded and described as follows; Beginning at a stone thence by land of W. E. Brunner West 72.1 perches to a stone, thence by land of Louis Fox South 2 degrees East 10.2 perches to a stone, thence by land of Moses Rauch East 69.5 perches to a stone, thence by land of William Boltz North 13 degrees East 10.6 perches to place of beginning containing 4 acres and 82 perches neat measure. Being the same premises which Daniel Kreider by his assignment endorsed on back of Indenture and dated March 30 a d 1872 did grant convey and set over unto John F. Kreider his heirs and assigns both tracts (No. 1 and 2) being the same premises which Mary Kreider and Samuel B. Kreider (administrators of John F. Kreider) by their act and deed dated April 1, a d 1892 and recorded in the office for recording of deeds at Lebanon in Deed Book K Vol. 2 page 630 did grant and confirm unto Jacob Graybill his heirs and assigns. Together with all and singular the buidlings, improvements, woods, maps, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof and every part and parcel thereof and also all the estate; right, title, interest, property, possession, claim and demand whatsoever, both in law and [???] of the said parties of the first part of in and to the said premises with the appurtances subject to a dower of four thousand four hundred and ninety six dollars and nineteen cents ($4496.19) which is to remain a lien on said realty for and during the natural lifetime of Mary Kreider (widow of John F. Kreider) the lawful interest therof to be annually paid to her on the 1st day of April of each year during her natural lifetime and the principal sum immediately after her death to be paid to the children of John F. Kreider deceased, their heirs or legal representatives to have and to hold the said premises, with all and singular the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns, to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Jacob Graybill and Nancy his wife, their heirs, executors, and administrators, do by these presents, covenant, grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever that they the said Jacob Graybill and Nancy, his wife their heirs, all and singular the hereditaments and premises herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the apputenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns against them the said Jacob Graybill and Nancy, his wife their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever defend.
