This page serves as my information storage area as I continue my quest to understand early Kreider family history, as well as the history of the Swiss Mennonites who settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

There are plenty of family trees and genealogy charts online that claim to know the ancestors of Jacob and John (Hans) Kreider (Greider), early Swiss immigrants to America. However, I have yet to see any kind of historical documentation to verify these claims. Unfortunately, many references only lead back to someone's online family tree that also has no documentation. There are probably some historical records somewhere that form the basis for these ancestral connections. I'm just waiting for someone to produce one, or to find one myself. Until I see proof, I'm not going to take my tree back any further than Jacob Kreider who settled in Lancaster County with his family sometime between 1712 and 1717.
